The Level of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder among Syrian Refugees
This study provided theoretical information about the war and post-traumatic stress disorder. In order to have a clear end, all sides of the war were examined. To give a better explanation about war, its definitions, types, reactions and effects were mentioned. Then Syrian War was examined with its background, history, and the Arab Spring. Finally, post-traumatic stress disorder was explained with its definitions, causes, symptoms, types, and reaction, diagnosis and treatment types.
The relationship between Syrian War and post-traumatic stress disorder were analyzed within the introduction phase. In the methodology section, the purpose of this study was defined as to work on post-traumatic stress disorder and see the importance of post-traumatic stress disorder upon people. Also, hypothesis was defined and the number of participants was mentioned to be 120. A Trauma Response Checklist was used as an instrument with Syrian refugees in Kilis. The procedure was explained clearly from the beginning of the study to the end. Finally, all ethical considerations were explained and applied during the study. Within the results section findings were presented. All tables were put and briefly interpreted. Compared to the discussion section, there were no subjective interpretations. In the discussion section, besides objective interpretation of tables in the result section, there were subjective interpretations of researchers and observations. After all, limitations of the study were mentioned and some issues were defined such as sample, selection of samples, time, place, language. Before the conclusion phase, the recommendation section came and some advice was given to future researchers.
